The turn of the millennium saw East West Cultural Development Centre (EWCDC), taking a giant leap of faith to initiate Corporate Community Games (CCG) in the hope of bringing about a sense of identity to corporate organizations in Singapore together as a corporate community. It was started with the vision of creating a platform for organisations from all business sectors to be engaged through social play. It was an awakening call for corporations to start looking “Beyond Competition – Community through Sports” and realise that we are all inter-connected.
For many, CCG was an opportunity to build internal bonding and sense of belonging as participating companies trained and geared up to compete in this first nationwide Games held solely for corporations in Singapore. Leading up to the big Games was a series of activities organised to facilitate interaction at various levels to engage the different pockets of the communities. Friendships were forged and bonds were strengthened for all who took the first leap with us. At the closing ceremony, we witnessed the rebirth of a corporate community.
CCG was just the beginning of a journey for all of us to discover ourselves as an individual and as a community. We believe more can be done, together, as a collective community.
